I am sure Satan listens to all the prayers and not pick and choose.

I once read that there was a study/research that find out that prayers actually helps! :P

Well, one also has to wonder what those researchers were on when they made that conclusion!!

ouch! i find some irony there...u say that the definition of prayer is how to do nothing and still think ur helping...then u say that satan listens to all prayers and doesnt pick and choose... does that mean u pray when u know its not being heard?? or do u not pray cuz its not being heard but still think that satan listens (since apparenlty u pray to him)! anyway glad to find a person from my so open minded university being so honest about this..(not agreeing though) and veryyy surprised ur blog is still running lol power to the ppl hehe

I hate to break the news, especially that it seems you are new to this blog, so you might have no background knowledge about my writing style. But this post is basically Satire\Sarcasm. If you would have noticed, this entry is tagged as "Sarcasm"!

So if you think what I am saying doesn't make any sense, then this post has fulfilled its purpose.

30/1/09 11:36 PM" You're thanking someone you claim doesn't exist 0_o......anyways....regardless if prayer were real or fake, i think the poster actually proves something there. "how to help by doing nothing"...i think that the person praying, because he or her actually believes it works, diminishes his or her stress through praying (regardless if it actually works or not), its the psychological mind set, you feel convicted that it works, and therefore you feel better for doing it, so even if it doesn't actually work, its a good method to fuel optimistic people.

I guess, ADP was making a deliberate joke.

As for the second note, about the "positive" psychological effect of prayer. Admitting that, then prayer is fundamentally no different than drinking alcohol. They make you feel happy without making tangible change.

And as George Bernard Shaw said on a similar topic: "The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic
is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one."

I was about to type the same thing as John but seems like you've already contradicted it:)....I personally don't pray but I think that it helps many people believe that they will do wonders one day.....Prayer makes you feel like you have someone to look after you...someone who really cares for you..this is the best part...after all we can't have a world with full of skepticism....
