Arabic: The Fucked Up Language

Sadly, this semester i am taking 'Arabic 101' course at university! I tell u, THIS FUCKING SUCKS!!! With this optimistic attitude, i came into the first lecture 10 minutes late: As usual i enter the class with minimal fuss so as not to disturb the running of the class... but the teacher cant just take that; so he decided to waste few minutes of the golden time of the lecture to teach me manners! Manners: who the fuck are you kidding, i don't deal with that crap! What the fuck he wants from me? Well he wants me to say: 'Alsalam 3laykom' (a greeting in the Arabic language)! Shit, why the fuck should i greet him that i enter his class.... some people u just can never understand!

The bullshit didn't stop right there, but the lecture itself was a piece of crap; I mean who cares what history did Arabs and Muslims have? Surely not me, cuz that's crappy info that no-one needs except maybe: Historians; absolutely not a computer engineer!

I can swear that Arabic 101 has nothing to do with Arabic as a language! I remember in my IGCSE days we used to learn how to write in Arabic; Memorizing some poem or historical event has no place in an Arabic language course... Shit: British buttholes know how to teach the Arabic language better than the Arabs themselves... but who am i to tell some stubborn Arab shitheads how to teach their own language!!! Fuck off! 00100

I'm pretty much concerned i might actually fail the course, or get a just above 50 mark, which can easily sabotage my total average since i suck at memorizing stuff like that; Lets just hope for best!

lets just say: its neither my identity, and absolutely not my culture... i behave the way i see fit, not what some people who it happens that i was born amoung preach me to!
Maybe u'r not a supporter of individualism, but i see my self as a culture in itself and identity by myself, and if nessary, a religion for my ownself....

but beside that point, i see that the way Arabic language course are presented is flawed to start with...

if "vulgar" language is your measurement tool for quality: maybe you should re-consider; please understand that the policy of this weblog protects the unlimited use of language as a way to express oneself - including but not limited to vulgar language....

" I think I have been disappointed with this post from you. "
I am not sure why you are saying those stuff; but in case it was an attempt for 'reverse psycology' please refrain from such techniques: it wont get anywhere!

Please understand that i am not trying to make anyone feel uncomfortable... on the contrary, i try to make this place a friendly place for discussion, you have done the best you can: expressed your opinion in my writing, and everyone who reads the post, will probably read the comments as well; In the end, i believe, the readers of this blog are mature enough to come up with their own reasonable judgement on the dispute.

Maybe the problem isn't with the arabic language or your teacher who doesn't want you waltzing in 10 minutes late, maybe the problem is with you.

Grow the fuck up for gods sake!

You're so lucky you don't have to take arabic 102 as well!

I've always felt that there's some kind of barrier when it comes to arabic: the fact that you have to translate your thoughts from spoken arabic to fus7a (formal arabic) before putting them on paper or communicating them to an audience. I learned good arabic at school, yet during the presentations in both arabic 101 and 102, speaking to my colleagues in fus7a really felt like acting.

I strongly believe the reason why most people find arabic so "old" and "difficult" and outdated is the way it is taught and the curriculum we study at school and university. There's a lot of arabic litterature that we are alien to, one that is enjoyable to read and makes you appreciate your language and realize how beautifully rich it is... that it can express you faithfully. Sadly, our curriculum clings to the ancient boring and difficult texts- there is very little diversity and lots of useless crap that only serves to make arabic feel more and more unattractive.

I went to an Arab place when I was a seaman, as usual I took a phrase book as different languages are usually fun.

On hearing spoken Arabic though with its emphasise on gurgling snot and plegm I prompty dumped the prase book over the side.

What a friking horrible way to communicate.
